WHEN A TRUSTEE ADMITS PUBLICLY.....

Catherine M Macera

…You can not trust ANY FOIL FROM THE VILLAGE OF ILION!!! When you FOIL as you know, the records are government preserved documents, and the Village Clerk is responsible for the safe keeping of those documents., and kept in TRUTH. ANY "twisting of truth" would be on the Clerk or at the trustees direction.

It is a shame the Joanne Moore, a trustee for 12 years, as she often brags, continues to try to deceive the public.

Referring to May 22, 2019 Village meeting https://www.ilionny.com/government/minutes.php?minutes=443

NO AGENDA DOCUMENTS WERE PROVIDED AS REQUIRED BY LAW. Can you decipher what actually was discussed? Even if you enter the Den to attend a meeting, you have already been deceived, but IF your were to attend, would you be able to remember the details discussed? A week later? A Month later?

OLD BUSINESS:

A discussion was held about 161 Otsego Street.

NEW BUSINESS:

A discussion was held about current village topics.

Trustee Moore's response to a request for Foil? What twisting of truth can occur in a FOIL request? The only twisting of the truth can be from those who attempt to suppress it and other information belonging to the people. The people she refers to as "they" have clearly put their name to the request, and the VB will unashamedly share this with the public in attempts of further discrediting of "they".

In their arrogance they are blinded and believe in so doing they will gain support of their label of "pot stirrer," and "truth twister" when in fact they show the people their abuse of power, totalitarian methods of governing, and any dissent or questions by the people will be met with harsh attacks, and not tolerated with out reprisal. Take heed residents you may be the next target, Protest against high taxes, poor public services, poor water quality like hundreds have and you to will be placed on a list and marked as a pot stirrer.

Don't be intimidated by government or elected officials who are self serving and narrow minded, instead hold them to account, and remind them that we expect ALL government to be of the people , for the people, and by the people, and All citizens have the right to address government of grievances.

On the Village of Ilion Facebook page we are told that if we do not purchase non public water for our pools we are " part of the problem". No Mayor/ village Board, the Village Government past and present was and is the problem.

Incompetence, mismanagement, poor operations are the main factors in why Village of Ilion water customers have to endure poor water quality. in spite of all of this most long suffering residents have lived up to their end of the bargain and paid rates and rate increases, while also purchasing bottled water, the Village on the other delays and waivers on what to do next. Many area's of the country have old ageing infrastructure, few like Ilion and Flint Michigan have it too such extreme. The common denominator in both is and will be revealed to be as above mentioned. No twisting of the truth just objective facts.

David Murray -

PUBLIC OFFICERS LAW, ARTICLE 6 FREEDOM OF INFORMATI §84. Legislative declaration. The legislature hereby finds that a free society is maintained when government is responsive and responsible to the public, and when the public is aware of governmental actions. The more open a government is with its citizenry, the greater the understanding and participation of the public in government.

As state and local government services increase and public problems become more sophisticated and complex and therefore harder to solve, and with the resultant increase in revenues and expenditures, it is incumbent upon the state and its localities to extend public accountability wherever and whenever feasible.

The people's right to know the process of governmental decision-making and to review the documents and statistics leading to determinations is basic to our society. Access to such information should not be thwarted by shrouding it with the cloak of secrecy or confidentiality. The legislature therefore declares that government is the public's business and that the public, individually and collectively and represented by a free press, should have access to the records of government in accordance with the provisions of this article.
