It has been over a year addressing ILIONS water issues of safe potable water. There are still complaints of discolored water, odors, no word on the lead violations, no word on corrosion control...
The latest huff and puff: it appears all public servants so the typical cowardice, and have place the burden on the engineers, I guess it is easier to pick a scapegoat for Servants defense of " it's not our fault, lets blame the engineers" ....as history shows..

Then came the story of the showering gift of money from the state. Thanks indeed for reinvesting taxpayers money on the taxpayers....Yet nothing in the shower concerns the water relates DIRECTLY to Village of Ilion's long time issues of unsafe water. Nothing about the previous concerns of the Corrosion control the DOH was concerned about a years ago, nothing in regard to the violation of lead, bacteria growth...
All those involved, have consistently down played the lead issue, when the fact is THERE NO SAFE ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF LEAD EXPOSURE, EPA AND CDC STATE CLEARLY. Easy once again to place the blame elsewhere, once again the taxpayers are at fault...when frankly, THE ERROR IS SERVANT BASED, COMPLETE FAILURE IN MAINTENENCE AND OPERATIONS. PERIOD.
What does this $3 million shower really do for this village? We are still having issues , unresolved issues...

We are now being ignore for the politico sensationalism. This $3 million is for :
"THE PROJECT WILL FINALIZE THE ENGINEERING, LEGAL, TECHNICAL AND ADMISNISTRAVITE PLANS NESSCARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND LONG - TERM MANAGEMENTOF THIS REGIONAL WATER PROJECT"
And it deeply involves 2 government agency's who have a long history of delay ,County and IDA...well I guess we can expect any forward movement to be about average of 15-20 years , based on the County Jail issue and the pumkin patch..
Meanwhile, residents continue to shell out an average of $200-$300 every month to have safe potable water...that is a kidney punch, to our wallet. Even at best , we would see the MVWA pipe in 5 years, $15000 burden for taxpayers...
