WHEN THE VILLAGE ITSELF DOES NOT PROMOTE THIS MEETING IN THE MEDIA, OR ON THEIR OWN FACEBOOK, IS A DISGRACE, EVERY AVAILABLE SOURCE TO REACH THE PEOPLE.
QUESTIONS ARE ALLOWED, ALTHOUGH THE VILLAGE DOES NOT STATE WHO WILL BE AT THIS MEETING, LETS BE PREPARED WITH QUESTIONS. REMEMBER THE LAST MEETING WAS SEPTEMBER 24, 2018 AND MUCH HAS HAPPENED SINCE.INCLUDING DRAINING THE WELLS TWICE, NUMEROUS REPORTED BREAKS, MANY THAT WERENT REPORTED, CONTINUED DISCOLORATIONS, OVER ABUNDANCE OF ODERS. WE DESERVE BETTER, WE DESERVE ANSWERS.
QUESTIONS:
With the fall construction of the Wells to treatment plant transmission line, will there be any interruption in the supply of potable water and or water quality issues that the public needs to be made aware and of concern?
What exactly is being gained in operations and water quality improvement with the construction and completion of the well transmission line. (what type of treatment then needs to be conducted at the treatment plant to address the iron and manganese issues of the wells.
Media reports have had public officials quoted as saying the Wells will be the primary source of Ilion's drinking water, with MVWA providing backup or secondary use, is this the chosen consensus of the VB , engineer, and elected officials, and most importantly will this be accepted by the DOH?
From an Engineering/ operational perspective is this option even practical or feasible. The DOH has stated that the wells and reservoirs do not provide the adequate quantity of daily water demand?
What are the statuses of various grants/ loans as well the intermunicipal co-operation efforts to join in on the MVWA transmission line from West Schuyler to Ilion and / or beyond?
Have there been any changes in costs estimates of the projects and or completion dates. What do rates look like under the various options? Has the VB been discussing implementation of rates over a series of years, or one big rate increase. Estimates have rates going as high as 65 to 100% higher to off loans and bonds.
NYS DOH has been conducting reservoir, well and intake sampling, what are the findings?
What is the current status of Ilion's lead issues in drinking water, Is an effective corrosion control program in place. And will the Village as promised to be helping to financial assist those with lead issues in remediation?
When will projects associated with the $7million dollar bonding (distribution repairs/ improvements) begin and what are they?
When will MVWA be available to answer questions in regard to costs, services, and what can be expected in either bulk purchase, or takeover/ management of the system.
When MVWA may take over operations what will be the process of transition, such as with the existing facilities, personal, . Why has the Village/ DOH stopped supplying bottled water, and will they consider restarting distribution do to the lead and continuing water quality issues. Have considerations been discussed to supply individual water filters to customers? Will the VB in the future attempt to provide more frequent and detailed information on progress of the water and other capital improvement projects, specifically in detailed minutes and postings on web site? Have samples been taking from areas of a complaint of poor water quality at individuals' resident's, such as those posted on social media "Clean water for Ilion" and others. If no why not. If Yes what are the results?
This would be a great time to take back our Village and hold officials accountatntable.
We must stand up and do our part, attend meetings, and watch over the servants.
