This Village has a reputation of protecting their workers, with no regard to tax payers. Taxes are high because after paying of the sub servants , there is very little left for repairs, maintenance, safety, health of the residents. Depending on who you talk to, this is the history of the Village the legacy. Some will say its been the last 20 - 30 years.
The Village employees get paid very well, great benefits, loads of time off, both union and non union. Boards that will give raises, illegally during executive sessions, will manipulate records, yes government records to deceive and distract the public, to hide a plethora of records, known information that most likely has effected all of us in one way or another.
They will even let thousands of dollars, for many years just be handed out to fat pensions, SS, etc. and then expect the people to bend over backwards to pile on more praise when these workers do the job. One that the actually make a lot of overtime at.
To swallow this pill, they offer you poisoned water, blight, slumlords, etc...
But withholding this information from the public is criminal...
WE ALL SHOULD BE OUTRAGED! JUST HOW MUCH HAVE THE PEOPLE BEEN RIPPED OFF? AND FOR HOW LONG? ARE THERE OTHER MIS-APPROPRIATIONS ?
This present treasurer has almost 20 years here, she was the deputy treasurer until according to VB meeting November 18, 2015, voted to reward
her the position effective Jan. 9 2016
Could be talking $100,000.00's upon $100,000.00's, we just don't know, this has not placed a mere veil, they have placed on iron curtain to out rights, to our money, our safety, our health.
These present servants will pretend to "chase down transients and medically ill", actually ignore law provided. They will ridicule, be demeaning, to hid the truth.
NY Vil 4-412 (12)
(12) An officer or person who assumes to create a liability or appropriate money or property of the village without authority of law, or assents thereto, is personally liable for such debt, or to the village for such money or property. Each member of a village board present at a meeting thereof when such unlawful action is taken is deemed to have assented thereto, unless he expressly dissents and requests such dissent to be entered upon the minutes of the meeting. If any person shall have heretofore appropriated or shall hereafter appropriate money or property of the village, contrary to law, and the facts in relation thereto are known to the board of trustees, and, after this section as amended takes effect, such board fail for thirty days to bring an action against such person to recover such money or property, each member of the board having such knowledge shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and liable to removal from office unless within such period of thirty days he shall file with the village clerk a written request, signed by him, requesting the bringing of, such action or shall cause to be entered upon the minutes of a meeting of the board a motion made by him for the bringing of such action, or his vote in favor of such a motion.
