Method of Water Treatment

Clark mentioned that Little Falls treats their water with UV. UV kills the bacteria but is not always reliable. We questioned which would be better; UV or the Solar Bee. Clark will ask McDonald Engineering for their opinion.

They have agreed to repay this debt by making monthly payments {Or a term of 30 years with 3% interest beginning June l , 2007. A discussion was held regarding the letter sent to customers outlining the new electric deposit program. Trustee Bechard asked if someone moving from one apartment to another in the Village would have to pay the deposit. The MUB stated that they felt that only new customers would be paying the deposit, not existing customers.

The primary focus of the MUB meeting centered on the second of two engineering presentations regarding the replacement of Filters #5 and #6.

ree
Both, of these presentations were excellent and offered two significantly different approaches to the Village's water and infrastructure problems

that the following policy and procedures should replace, the policies and procedures implemented January I St 2008.

a) New accounts require the presentation of commonly accepted identification only, by new applicants; and upon presentation of such, are exempt from a new account deposit, unless there are other mitigating circumstances, such as: outstanding electric bills, comprising two months’ worth of outstanding debt, previous delinquency or shut off, or are "seasonal users. These policies apply to applicants regardless if they are homeowners or renters.

b) The amount for the deposit shall be determined, based on whether or not, electricity is the primary source of heating; in which case, the amount will be based on a two-month average, during the peak heating season, for that particular accounts past usage during these times.

Backhoe: The Water Department has the money available, in their loan fund, to purchase a new backhoe for approx. $78,000.00. In turn, Water would give their current hoe to DPW. DPW would sell their backhoe. MUB requests financials from Village Treasurer Connie Gagliardi, and tables motion. Any monies gained by DPW in selling their backhoe should go to the Water Department, to offset their purchase of a new backhoe.

WELLS - Reservoir # 3 : it is currently used sparingly. If it were to be used more, #3 would be an asset to the overall water department. Would water be softer if #3 were online? It is believed that its valves aren't working properly. How costly would the repairs be?
