With the Village Board's continued policy of not providing department reports and/ or other supporting documents utilized in discussions and meetings of the Village Board on it's website, an informed public has but no choice, but to utilize FOIL to obtain these records.
For an Administration who claims transparency, this flies in the face of the truth and reality of just the opposite. The VB encourages public attendance at meetings, and so do I, but the reality of the situation is few do with many meeting having no public representation or two or three. Please do not make the mistake that this indicates that the people are blessing a job well done, but perhaps the alternate of apathy, feeling of non welcome, and being labeled "scrutinizer" and "pot stirrers." The continued policy of publishing names of those who FOIL, is a deliberate attempt to silence and discourage the people to exercise this right, and the governments way of "Blacklisting them" or attempting to show them as they have stated in the past "pot stirrers" and the cause of excessive over time, and the resignation of several clerks.
No other community can be found to list the names of people who FOIL. Personally this policy is meaningless to me has no intimidation effect, and only shows and enhances the position held by the administration is wrong and not in the people's interest.
There fore::
Regard the following as a formal request under FOIL:
All supporting documents of discussion and or decision making by the VB at it's 5/22/2019 Village Board meeting. This is to include/ but not be limited too, monthly department reports( Water/ electric/ DPW, Police. Fire, et) All advisory Board reports/ documents from MUB, Planning Board, Recreation, etc, any and ALL engineering reports, documents discussed.Copies of resolutions/ chemical bid results, Peddlers permits.NEW BUSINESS:
• A discussion was held about current village topics
Any and all reports, memo's ,official notes, documents, topics of discussions as mentioned occurred.
I have cc's Robert Freedom to assure all legal processes and OML procedures will be followed, and for possible advise and opine.
